Floyd Mayweather Jr vs. Marcos Maidana on May 3

Mayweather vs. Maidana This match will be held at the MGM Grand Arena at Las Vegas in Nevada in United States of America on May 3, 2014. This will be the fight of the century with many fans being anxious to watch it. It is because it will be a huge fight that actually tests the power of any other opponent to beat Mayweather in the ring. This will be the eliminator type of fight where Mayweather will have a win-win situation. Indeed, it can be argued that this are two boxing champions that thew whole world wants to see.

Mayweather vs. Maidana

WBA welterweight champion Marcos Maidana (35-3, 31 KO’s) has been training hard for the past month for his big fight against WBC champ Floyd Mayweather Jr. (45-0, 26 KO’s) next month on May 3rd, and Maidana feels he’s in top shape and really to pull off an upset. Maidana expects to give a much better performance against Mayweather than the recent efforts from Saul “Canelo” Alvarez and Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero, both of which seemed to have no heart for the task.

Mayweather vs. Maidana

Mayweather (45-0, 26 KO) is at 149.8 pounds, so he has just under three more pounds to cut by May 2. Floyd's never had any trouble making the welterweight limit, so there is surely no concern about that, and there wasn't before this, but hey, here's photographic evidence!

Marcos Maidana is perhaps the most ruthless puncher in boxing today. With 31 vicious knockouts in 35 wins, Maidana holds the highest KO percentage of any of Floyd Mayweather’s opponents. EVER. Marcos Maidana is an all-around warrior known for his fearless attitude and savage knockout power. On May 3, Maidana will take on pound-for-pound superstar Floyd Mayweather in the biggest moment of his career. Maidana's ferocious hits have changed the course of his past fights in a mere moment.

Marcos Maidana - I've crossed Paths With Lions

Maidana will give it his best shot to beat Floyd Mayweather at The MGM Grand in Las Vegas on Showtime Pay Per View, hoping to follow up December's unanimous decision over Adrien Broner, whom he floored twice, for the WBA title. Maidana said, "I know he is the favorite, but I don't care. I've crossed paths with lions. I keep going forward and leave it in God's hands. If he wants to win, he'll have to kill me first."

"I guess that it's true about those who have tried to come forward against Floyd. But the fact is that Floyd never has faced a fighter with the power and the heart and the determination of Maidaina, who is one of those guys who is not worried about who is front of him. He's not worried about fighting the best fighter in the world, or the best fighter in history," said Maidana's trainer, Robert Garcia.

"He's not worried about anything. He gets ready to fight and to do what he does best, and he'll do that against anybody. He goes out there to try to hurt his opponent, and that's what he's training to do. He throws punches from different angles and has tremendous power in both hands. There's no secret to that. He has no respect for whoever is in front of him. He's not thinking about it. He feels like he can beat him and anybody else in history that's in the ring in front of him."

If Maidana has any hope of beating Mayweather (45-0, 26 KO), he almost certainly will have to knock him out. I just can't imagine a scenario where Maidana outpoints Mayweather over 12 rounds and doesn't stop him. The general belief, I think, is that it will be hard for Marcos to even get to Floyd, let alone batter him with body shots, but he's got to do something, and that sounds like as good an idea as anyway.
